Outline of "Emmy® Awards"

The "Emmy® Awards", established in 1948 by the " US National Association of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS)" and having 54 years of long history and tradition, are presented every year to the most excellent contribution in the fields of arts and sciences in the broadcasting industry.
The "Emmy® Awards" consist of 4 categories of 1) Daytime Emmy® Awards, 2) News and Documentary Emmy® Awards, 3) Scientific Development and Technological Achievement Emmy® Awards and 4) Sports Emmy® Awards. This time, we received the "Scientific Development and Technological Achievement Emmy® Awards" as a corporation which greatly contributed to the "technological development in the broadcasting industry" by "Plasmavision® W".

Background for winning Award

We have been developing and commercializing plasma displays equipped with the plasma display panels developed by Fujitsu Limited and was the first manufacture to introduce products such as 21-inch type in 1993, 42-inch type in 1996, 42-inch ALIS system in 1999, and have contributed to the market expansion of large screen flat display playing a role of a leading company of the development. In 2001, we developed a full-digital video processor "AVM (Advanced Video Movement)" exclusively used for plasma display panel as an ultimate achievement of video technology of plasma display which we have acquired over many years and succeeded in its commercialization.
"AVM" is a super high density LSI adopting the newly developed "High Definition Digital Multi Conversion (HDDMC) system" and our original full-digital video processor exclusively used for plasma display with a single-chip structure succeeding to our own system and performance which we have developed in the past, such as "Adjustment-to-movement IP conversion processing function", "High definition expansion/reduction filter processing", "Expansion/reduction type contour processing", "Digital AGC function", "High definition digital processing of component video input signal".
Thus, utilizing the characteristics of plasma display to the maximum, the industry's top level of picture quality has been realized for various video sources ranging from the pictures with the detailed feel of a material of the film required for a movie to the distinct, sharp, three-dimensional and dynamic pictures required for still and moving pictures.
Furthermore, by adopting "Fine Mode" function, the real live feeling of a movie theater can be experienced readily at home.

Such an original and advanced technological development of plasma display and the contribution to the broadcasting industry were highly evaluated and led to the first winning of the Award as a plasma display.

The winning of the "Emmy® Award" which is authoritative in the broadcasting industry is a very honorable event for our company and proves that the high level of technology and reliability of our products were recognized.
