Fujitsu General Mini VRF earns TM65 verification in UK
Fujitsu General Air Conditioning UK (FGAC(UK)) has earned Embodied Carbon Verification (ECV TM65) for its award-winning J-VS Mini VRF R32 series.
The ECV scheme from CIBSE Certification is designed to encourage environmentally friendly practices within the built environment. It applies to MEP (mechanical, electrical and public health) products used in applications including heating, cooling and ventilation.
FGAC(UK) has become an early participant, demonstrating transparency in embodied carbon reporting, and now intends to extend the verification across its portfolio.
Commercial Director Martyn Ives said: "We were thrilled when the J-VS was recently named ACR Product of the Year at the National ACR & Heat Pump Awards, and this news is further evidence of an outstanding line-up of products".
"We are fully behind the ECV scheme ambitions to drive sustainability and we plan to expand the TM65 verification to cover more of our products very soon."
While CIBSE’s TM65 methodology gives manufacturers the tools to carry out self-assessments of their products’ embodied carbon, the ECV scheme offers independent verification of those calculations for additional credibility.
Aimed at small to medium-sized commercial applications or large residential spaces, the J-VS is available in capacities from 12-15kW. The launch of the R32 version in 2024 saw compressor innovation improve seasonal efficiencies up to a possible 8.27 SEER (up to 36% increase from previous model) and 5.37 SCOP (up to 33% increase from previous model).
