Our air conditioners (Models AS28FPW-W, AS36FPW-W, AS45FPW2W) won “Technology Award” of “The 2000 Japan Society of Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineer Awards” from Japan Society of Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineer ,corporation established in 1925 aiming at the development and spread of the refrigerating and air conditioning technology and the related science and technology.

Outline of “Japan Society of Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineer Awards”

“Japan Society of Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineer Awards” are presented once a year to the organizations and individuals who contributed much to the development and spread of the refrigerating and air conditioning technology and the related science and technology. The awards consist of “Technology Award”, “Science Award”, “Excellent Lecture Award” and “President's Award”, of which the “Technology Award” we received this time is presented each year to those who particularly excelled in the technology relating to the equipment and facilities in the refrigerating and air conditioning fields and the products, manufacturing facilities and manufacturing technology in the fields of low temperature foods and biology.

The Awards started in 1980, and this year's award ceremony (21st) took place on May 16 in Tokyo.

Our air conditioners which received the Award this time, were highly valued of their high quality air conditioning realized by enhanced energy saving and dust collecting performance utilizing our original technological development of the top and front flap panels, heat exchanger, etc. and are the only room air conditioner that won the Award this year.

Reason for Winning Awards

The “Technology Award” was given to our air conditioner in the light of valuing the following factors.

  1. Realizing high energy saving performance by such original technological development as the top and front flap panels which reduced resistance to inhale indoor air and such other technical development as heat exchangers, motors, propeller fans.
  2. Improvement in dehumidifying function by the top and front flap panels and our own refrigerant circuit system.
  3. Realizing high quality air conditioning by our own technological development such as air purifying function with considerably enhanced dust collecting performance by adopting the top and front flap panels, plasma deodorizing, photo catalyst deodorizing.
  4. Consideration for global environment in designing such as adoption of new refrigerant (HFC410A) which does not destroy the ozone layer as well as the improvement in recyclability.

Appreciating that our technology was highly evaluated by winning the “Technology Award” of Japan Society of Refrigerating and Air conditioning Engineer, we will make further efforts for the development of more advanced technology.

Double deodorizing Realizing comfortable air quality by decomposing unpleasant smell with plasma power of air purifying function and adsorbing the smell with zeolite deodorant of a photo catalyst deodorizing filter.
Comfortable dehumidifying Realizing "High power dehumidification" with 60% more (compared with Model AS28EPF) dehumidifying power by opening and closing of the top and front flap panels and a newly developed heat exchanger capacity control.

Powerful cooling and heating (2.8/ 3.6/ 4.5kW types) corresponding to the recent trend of large living rooms
