Our company will release 3 models (5.3kW / 6.4kW / 8.8kW type) of middle and large size wall-mounted inverter air conditioners realizing industry's top(*1) energy-saving performance from March 31 for North American market where the energy-saving requirement is heightening. Together with 2 models (2.6kW / 3.5kW type) which were already released, we developed 5 models of wall-mounted inverter air conditioners from small size to middle and large size realizing industry's top(*1) energy-saving performance, and thus, we will aim to expand the business. In North America, as part of the energy policy for the prevention of global worming, the tightening of regulations for energy-saving performance and the subsidy system for energy-saving products are in force. On the other hand, there has been a problem of high energy consumption as the central air-conditioning system in which all rooms are air-conditioned uniformly is prevailing in North America. Under the circumstances, the growth of demand for the individual air-conditioning system excelling in the energy-saving performance because of controlling the air-conditioning for each room minutely is in prospect. Our company had earlier developed small-size wall-mounted inverter air conditioners and led the energy-saving trend in the North American market so far. This time, in order to further expand the business corresponding to the heightening energy-saving requirement, we have developed middle and large size wall-mounted inverter air conditioners realizing industry's top(*1) energy-saving performance and enhanced the lineup of energy-saving air conditioner models. Above all, the 5.3 / 6.4kW type models are conforming to the stringent energy-saving standard of “ENERGY STAR”(*2). (6.4kW type is the industry's first(*3)) In the new products, high energy efficiency was realized by adopting “2 cylinder rotary compressor” of our original development and newly developed inverter control circuit for outdoor unit. Also, by increasing the capacity of heat exchanger of indoor unit by about 10%(*4) compared with conventional models in addition to the adoption of the rotary compressor and inverter control circuit, the total energy consumption efficiency of outdoor unit and indoor unit improved by about 15%(*5) compared with conventional models. Furthermore, as the function to enhance energy-saving effect, “Minimum heat” function to make heating operation suppressing the room temperature to prevent the freezing of room furniture when nobody is at home at midwinter and “Economy operation” function to make electricity-saving operation suppressing the maximum capacity of cooling and heating to about 70% are adopted to correspond to the energy-saving requirement. photo : Middle and large size wall-mounted inverter air conditioner for North America

1. Realizing industry's top(*6) energy-saving performanceIn the newly released products, the seasonal energy consumption efficiency (SEER) of cooling performance improved by about 15% and the rated energy efficiency (EER) improved by about 25% compared with our conventional model(*7), by which the industry's top(*6) energy-saving performance was realized.
i) Realizing high energy-saving efficiency by adopting “2 cylinder rotary compressor” of our original development and newly developed inverter control circuit for outdoor unitThe new products are equipped with high efficiency DC inverter type “2 cylinder rotary compressor” (N-TF30ND) of our original development and inverter control circuit developed corresponding to its characteristics. ii) Realizing high efficiency by increasing the capacity of heat exchanger of indoor unit by about 10%(*4) compared with conventional models, and the high energy efficiency in the wide operation range from low speed to high speed was realized.The energy efficiency improved by reviewing the structure of indoor unit and adopting the heat exchanger with the capacity increased by about 10%(*4) compared with our conventional model. The industry's smallest(*8) size was realized in the 6.4 / 8.8kW type indoor units. 2. Enhanced energy-saving functionsAs the function to enhance energy-saving effect, “Minimum heat” function and “Economy operation” function are adopted to correspond to the energy-saving requirement. i) “Minimum heat” function to make heating operation suppressing the room temperature to prevent the freezing of room furniture when nobody is at home at midwinterTo prevent the freezing of room furniture when nobody is at home at midwinter, “Minimum heat” function to make heating operation suppressing the room temperature to 10°C was newly adopted. By this function, the electricity consumption when nobody is at home can be reduced compared with normal operation.
ii) “Economy operation” function to make electricity-saving operation suppressing the maximum capacity of cooling and heating to about 70%By the newly adopted “Economy operation” function, the maximum capacity of cooling and heating can be suppressed to about 70% compared with normal operation, and at the same time, as the room temperature can be controlled moderately (about 1°C higher at cooling operation and about 1°C lower at heating operation), electricity charge can be saved. Lineup and main specifications of energy-saving air conditioners for North AmericaTogether with the models which were already released, we developed 5 models of wall-mounted inverter air conditioners from small size to middle and large size realizing industry's top(*1) energy-saving performance.
