Our company will release 3 models (8kW cooling / heating, 8kW / 9.4kW cooling only) of large-size wall-mounted inverter air conditioners realizing industry's top class (*1) energy-saving performance (*2) for Australia sequentially from this month. In Australia where the interest in global environmental issue is high, the requirement for energy-saving performance of electrical goods is strong, and the MEPS (*3) regulations obliging manufacturers to improve energy-saving performance and the Energy Rating Labeling System obliging manufacturers to display the energy consumption efficiency on each unit are in force. All air conditioners, whether home-use or commercial-use, are subject to the regulations. Under these circumstance, we will release 3 new models which are realizing industry's top class energy-saving performance and energy labeling notation in spite of the industry's smallest (*4) size indoor unit. The development of the high efficiency air conditioners has been made possible by adopting the compressors of our original development for the first time and realizing the optimization of energy efficiency. The compressors (*5) developed this time have achieved about 5% higher energy efficiency compared with equal class of compressors and, the designing was made to lower the loss of heat transmission of heat exchanger and maintain the sufficient lubricating performance for long piping installation which is required for large facility such as buildings by reducing the ratio of lubricating oil contained in the circulating refrigerant by about 50%. Thereby, significant improvement of energy-saving performance of middle and large size air conditioners which are increasingly demanded and space saving of installation by downsizing indoor units have been realized.

Thereby, 5% higher energy efficiency compared with equal class of compressors was achieved. 2. Reducing discharge oil by halfA part of lubricating oil inside the compressor is discharged outside the compressor, but excessive discharge oil may cause the lowering of cooling performance of air conditioner or the burning of bearing part by the lowering of oil level inside the compressor. In the compressors developed this time, the shape of lubricating oil separation board inside the compressor and its positioning are optimized to suppress the ratio of lubricating oil contained in the circulating refrigerant. Also, the designing is so made as to lower the loss of heat transmission by reducing the lubricating oil contained in the circulating refrigerant by about 50% and maintain the lubricating performance sufficient for long piping installation required for such large facility as buildings.
