We are pleased to announce the completion of new R&D building (“Air Conditioner R&D Center”) on October 15 in the premise of Kawasaki Head Office, the construction of which started in January, 2007.
This “Air Conditioner R&D Center”, for which we invested total about 5.5 billion yen is intended to strengthen the essential technology and the product development power by integrating the development group which has been separated into the Head Office (development of home-use small-size air conditioners) and Hamamatsu Business Office (development of large-size air conditioners and multi air conditioning system for buildings) and particularly develop the state-of-the-art technology products including energy-saving and environment-conscious products.
The “Air Conditioner R&D Center” will be utilized as a building equipped with the facility of field test by positioning the building itself as a experiment building of multi air conditioning system for buildings and reinforcing the performance and quality verification equipment as well as adopting the test equipment mainly for large-size air conditioners.
Furthermore, we are planning to construct a 60m height difference test tower, which is essential for the development of VRF system, on the adjacent ground.
We will considerably strengthen the development capacity for air conditioners from small-size models to large-size models by the completion of “Air Conditioner R&D Center” and reinforcement of large-size test equipment in addition to the small-size air conditioner test equipment reinforced in October, 2005, and at the same time, aim at the integration of small-size and large-size technology and the enhancement of development efficiency.
Thus, we will further promote the sales expansion of air conditioners ranging from small-size to large-size in the world market and aim to expand the air conditioner business further.
